Pompano Beach, Florida, August 3, 2007 - In order to better serve the Florida market and the southeast region, Peters Imports, Inc. of Grandville, Michigan and Gourmet Products, Inc. of Pompano Beach, FL will open a new distribution center in Pompano Beach in August – Peters Imports South.
“We can now offer our combined customers quicker service and lower minimums in the Florida and Southeast Markets,” said Ed Peters, President. “By combining our sales in this market, we can offer customers 1-2 day delivery on all the products in our portfolio, often using our own trucks.”
Barry Hadler, who has been operating Gourmet Products, Inc. in Florida for 13 years, will head up the operation in Pompano Beach. Peters Imports South operations are expected to be fully functional in a new, larger facility by the end of August 2007.
The Peters Imports catalogs and product assortments will be available to all customers in all classes of trade. Products that were previously available only to the Gourmet Products customers will be added to www.petersimports.com, the Peters Imports’ website. Sales will be handled by the current Gourmet Products sales staff and brokers in Florida, and customer service will be based at Peters Imports in Michigan.
Ed Peters concludes, “We are very pleased to launch this combined effort and believe there is a need we can fulfill with our collective experience, product selection, and personalized customer service.”
